About J.A.P.

The show, "J.A.P." was originally developed from a piece that was performed for an evening catering to an Asian American audience at New York's prestigious Public Theater's cabaret space, Joe's Pub. The content of the evening was primarily on Asian themes with the exception of this piece about one woman's journey to Judaism. It happened to be one of the most popular of the evening.

The piece was then extended and premiered at the Women of Color Arts Festival 2001 where it won the award for Best Solo Performance. It was developed further at PSNBC, the television network NBC's artistic showcase designed to develop writers and comedians. The show then began touring schools and synagogues on the east coast just before the Factor Couple became the Factor Family.

With the birth of their first son came a further journey to Judaism, a whole new level of observance and the family's decision to move to Israel. In Israel, a re-vamped, for-women-only version of the show was produced to an overwhelming response and was followed by a brief engagement in the NY/NJ area which drew over 1200 women.

The brief engagement was then followed by a four month, fifty city tour

that drew an attendance of over 20,000 women.
